Navarre Beach Marine Science Station Announce hosts the 5th annual Autism OdysSea
Navarre Beach Marine Science Station is teaming with WeatherSTEM for Autism OdysSea – a one-of-a kind day at the beach for exceptional families.
Be part of a special day at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station for families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. Although the name implies that it is just for those on the spectrum, children with special needs and their families are invited to join the fun. Teachers, trained volunteers, community organizations and students from the
Navarre Beach Marine Science Station are excited to host this unique event. Participants will rotate at their own pace to learning stations throughout the park. Activities include sensory stations, touch tanks, shark myths, sea turtle crafts, live critters, beachcombing, character meet and greet, SUP, and kayaking for ages 8 and up. The Navarre Rotary will be providing lunch for all participants.
Autism OdysSea will be held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, May 6, 2017, and the registration is $10 per family. All families must register in advance at https://www.navarresciencestation.org/events_programs/autism-odyssea
Each family will receive a goody bag with a t-shirt and our popular Sea Turtle Autism car magnet.
Northwest Florida Marine Education and Discovery of Gulf Ecosystems, Inc. (NWFL Marine EDGE) is the non-profit organization supporting Navarre Beach Marine Science Station as well as conservation and education programs on Navarre Beach. Exciting new projects in Navarre Beach Park are on the horizon, including expanded year-round programs, outdoor exhibit area and the upcoming Gulf Coast Discovery Center.
