The American Legion Riders Chapter 382 Navarre, FL is holding their 10th Annual Ride for the Claus benefitting our Navarre and Midway area less fortunate children, special needs children, foster children, Gold Star Military Families, and both the Navarre Gardens Nursing Homes.
Each year the list has grown to delivering presents to 300 + children that are on the list. These rides will take place on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th and the following weekend Saturday, December 14th and December 15th from 9am to 3pm in the Navarre and Midway community.
On December 7th from 2-4 pm there is also a community Christmas party at the Legion for the children, where Santa always makes a special appearance. Food, games, prizes, photos and Fun! Open to the public.
While delivering these presents to the families in the community, the Motorcycle Riders, Santa Claus, his reindeers, elves and friends watch for other children in the neighborhood to have Santa pass out presents to them and have their pictures taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, reindeers and Mr. Grinch. We have an additional 300 + children that will receive a present from Santa at these stops. Not only will the children receive presents, but those also flying an American Flag that is worn and tattered will receive a flag on their doorstep with a card letting them know where the flag came from and where to retire the flag. The Boy Scout Troop 401 will hold a retiring flag ceremony that is open to the public.
For the safety of the children, the community and the riders, during those times there will be road blockers at adjacent streets to assist in making sure they can deliver joy throughout the holiday season to all the community.
You will see the American Legion Riders holding various fundraising events throughout the year to provide for our families and our community. Meat Bingos 4 times a year, Stuff the Sleigh throughout November, and our sponsors that allow us to continue our efforts.
We are seeking sponsors to help with this big endeavor, if you would like a sponsorship packet or to donate toys, please contact Tina Hernandez American Legion Riders Director at TinaHernandez45@gmail.com or Tracy Bragg at 382riderssecretary@gmail.com
The American Legion is a patriotic Veteran’s organization. Focusing on service to veterans, servicemembers and communities, the Legion evolved from a group of war-weary veterans of World War I into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States who fight daily for our military and their dependents.
