\n \n \n \n \n Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will hold a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. on Fri.\, Nov. 22 to open the Navarre Fitness Court. The ribbon cutting will be at Navarre Sports Complex\, 8840 High School Blvd.\, in Navarre.

\n This capital project is a featured part of the 2024 initiative launched by the National Fitness Campaign (NFC)\, a nationwide wellness consulting firm that partners with municipalities and schools to plan\, build and fund Healthy Communities. NFC&rsquo\;s award-winning initiative has celebrated its 500th Healthy Community in America and is poised to deliver vital outdoor wellness programs helping to fight the rising fiscal and humanitarian costs of physical inactivity.

\n This year\, Santa Rosa County and dozens of other select recipients from around the country were awarded a $30\,000 grant from NFC to help support the program. In addition to grant funding\, the board allocated approximately $140\,000 of Local Option Sales Tax funds to make the project possible in the Navarre community.

\n The new Fitness Court®\; at Navarre Sports Complex is the world&rsquo\;s best outdoor gym and allows users to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven stations. Created with people aged 14 and over and with all abilities in mind\, the workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels\, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience. \;
