The Florida Chamber is excited to announce that Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees will join us for an executive level discussion on Monday, July 20 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. EDT. Dr. Rivkees will discuss the latest on COVID-19 and answer your questions about Florida's current health and safety guidelines. Florida Chamber Vice President of Political Operations Nick Catroppo will provide an update on the upcoming primary election and the latest voter registration data. Florida Chamber Foundation Chief Economist Dr. Jerry Parrish and I will also take a closer look at the latest economic data and answer your questions about Florida's path forward. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees. As Surgeon General, Dr. Rivkees also serves as state health officer for the Florida Department of Health. In this capacity, he oversees the operations of the state health office in Tallahassee, 67 county health departments, 22 area offices for the Division of Children's Medical Services, 12 regional offices for the Division of Medical Quality Assurance, nine area offices for the Division of Disability Determinations and three public health laboratories. He previously served as chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine and physician-in-chief at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital. He is an international expert on pediatric endocrinology and developmental biology, and joined UF Health from Yale University in 2012. |
Mark Wilson serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he serves as Chair of the National Council of State Chambers, and on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, Enterprise Florida, Leadership Florida, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Chamber Foundation, and is an active member of the U.S. Chamber's Committee of 100. |
Dr. Jerry Parrish, is the Chief Economist and the Director of Research for the Florida Chamber Foundation. Dr. Parrish is currently an Adjunct Instructor in the Masters in Applied Economics Program at Florida State University. He earned a B.S. in Agricultural Business and Economics from Auburn University, an M.B.A. from Bellarmine University, an M.S. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Auburn University. He regularly publishes research reports and articles on the Florida economy and Florida's competitiveness. |
Nick Catroppo is the Vice President of Political Operations for the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He has nearly a decade of experience advising government officials and candidates on political and policy matters, and leading successful political campaigns at the local, state and federal levels. Catroppo has led and served on numerous campaigns for a variety of candidates, including Attorney General Ashley Moody, Representative James Buchanan, and former Congressmen David Jolly and Richard Nugent. He received his political science degree from the University of South Florida. |
