Message from The Navarre Chamber's
Military & Veteran Affairs Committee Chair,
Steve Rhodes/Gulf Power Company
In 2021, I will be serving as the Chair of the Navarre Chamber's Military and Veteran Affairs Committee. This Committee is committed to supporting all the active duty and retired military families in the Navarre area. It is our goal to make military service members and their families always feel welcome, whether they are just here to visit or have made our community their home. The Committee is focused on opportunities to help enhance our community and make it the best place for military families to live, shop, relax and enjoy.
The military bases located in the Navarre area have an enormous economic impact on our community and the local economy, and we are committed to helping strengthen the relationships between our local business community and military personnel and their families – partnerships that are mutually beneficial.
We never take for granted the hard work, dedication and sacrifice that our military families have made and/or are making for our country, and we believe we must always let them know that we, as a community, care a great deal about them.
The Chamber's Annual Military Appreciation Picnic is the perfect opportunity for the businesses in the Navarre area to come together to thank our local hometown heroes for everything they do for our community, county and Northwest Florida. From volunteering during the Hurricane Sally recovery efforts to serving abroad, our service men and women dedicate their lives to serving others. This is our opportunity to show them our appreciation by treating their families to an annual fun-filled patriotic themed picnic in Navarre. MORE DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!
In addition, there are also special event opportunities for Navarre Chamber Military & Veteran Affairs Committee Members to participate in, including base tours, ceremonies and holiday events.
The Navarre Chamber Military and Veteran Affairs Committee Meetings are open to all Chamber Members and held the first Monday of every month at Noon. (There is no extra cost to be part of this Committee.)
Active duty representatives from the area bases are invited to attend and give updates at each Committee Meeting. We also encourage Veterans from all service branches and all eras to be involved with the Committee.
The meetings are a good forum to communicate military member needs and issues to our business community and a vehicle for the business community to communicate opportunities and resources available to our military in the Navarre area.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Noon!
