Everyone is invited to join us for the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge's Raptor Rehabilitation Complex Dedication on Saturday, July 18 from 9 am to Noon.
The Chamber will be having a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10 am with the Navarre Navigators. We hope everyone can join us!
ECWR is excited to invite you to our Raptor Rehabilitation Complex Dedication this Saturday 18 July from 9 am to noon. This Complex was made possible by the extraordinary support of Mr. Edwin Henry, founder and owner of Henry Company Homes, who sponsored the complete project at a cost of over $100,000.00.
In order to keep us all safe in these COVID-19 times, ribbon cuttings and dedications are scheduled about every half hour for from 9:00 to 10:30.
This is a fundraising event and special admissions pricing of $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for children will be offered. Sponsor and Membership opportunities will also be available.
Keeper talks are scheduled from 9:15 to 12:00
- 9:15 - African Spurred Tortoise and Gopher Tortoise
- 9:30 - Striped Skunk
- 10:00 - Red Shouldered Hawk
- 10:30 - Red Fox
- 11:00 - Umbrella Cockatoo
- 11:30 - Rose Haired Tarantula
- 12:00 - Southern Flying Squirrel
This is going to be an exciting day as the rehabilitation habitats that make up the Raptor Rehabilitation Complex will not be open to the public once raptors are healing in them, so please come see the impressive 100 foot, two 50 foot, and two smaller raptor mews that make up the complex. Wearing of masks is encouraged during the event, and visitor will be asked to properly social distance while enjoying the grounds
This will be a rain or shine event, so please come support the Refuge, meet its friendly staff and volunteers, and Animal Ambassadors like Loxie the red fox and Aries the red-shouldered hawk. Our Education and Outreach Center is open to the public 9:00 am to 3 pm, Wednesday through Saturday and 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday. The Refuge medical center is open 365 days a year 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to treat injured wildlife but is not open to the public. Our Wildlife Hotline is 850 684-1485.
