"Winning Federal Contracts for Your Small Business: Session 1 of the 8 Step Series”

The Florida PTAC at UWF offers a workshop entitled “Winning Federal Contracts for Your Small Business: Session 1 of the 8 Step Series” on Thursday, July 12^th, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.   This 8-step Series to Success in Bidding and Winning Federal Contracts.  Who should take this course? This series of workshops is for any business owner who has been established for over a year and who is interested in working with the Federal Government.  Focus will be on the requirements of the Federal Government, how to find bid leads, acquire technical data, and write and submit proposals.  Along the way, we will share real-world examples, dispel myths and discuss the reality of doing business with the Federal Government.  What this course will do for you:  Attendees will learn the Eight Steps of doing business with the Federal Government, from finding and identifying customers, to locating bid leads and packages, to pricing and proposals and finally, to submitting bids.  These workshops will assist you if you are just entering this multi-billion dollar market; if you are a mature company wishing to expand, these workshops will help you assess and realign your business practices.  1) July 12th - Think Like The Government; 2) July 19 - Identify Your Customers; 3) July 2 - Get Registered; 4) August 2 - Find Bid Leads; 5) August 9 - General Services Administration; 6) August 16 - Get the Bid Package; 7) August 23 - Federal Government Accounting and Pricing Matters; 8) August 30 - Writing Your RFP; Celebration on September 6 - Celebrate the Conclusion of the Series.  Cost: $487 per company; this includes all handout materials to be given out on a CD.  Certificates of completion are awarded and participants MUST attend all classes to receive a certificate.  View descriptions for each session under the session dates on our website.  Session 1: "Think like the Government":  Before you can address what the government is looking for, identify what you really want to offer.  This first session addresses what the opportunities are, how to find your niche and the basic agenda on what else we will cover.  Location: Florida SBDC at UWF/Emerald Coast Campus, 1170 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Library, Room 836, 32547.  Registration online with payment: www.sbdc.uwf.edu “Training Opportunities”.
