ADVOCACY UPDATE: Thank-You Sent to Commissioner Eddington and PD&E Study Briefing this Friday

I wanted to share a quick update on the Navarre Chamber's advocacy efforts regarding the Navarre Beach Bridge Project.

Today, the Navarre Chamber sent a thank-you email to Commissioner Eddington recognizing his recommendation at last week's Commission Meeting to pause the Navarre Beach toll proposal and move forward with the PD&E Study for the Navarre Beach Bridge Project. We expressed our appreciation and reiterated our commitment to support transparent, community-involved next steps.

As part of keeping our members and the Navarre Community informed, we have invited Santa Rosa County Administrator Brad Baker to give an Overview of the required PD&E Study Process for the Navarre Beach Bridge Project at this week’s Commerce & Coffee:

Commerce & Coffee – Navarre Beach Bridge PD&E Study Overview

  • Date: Friday, October 17
  • Networking: 7:30 a.m.
  • Program: 8:00 a.m.
  • Location: St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 6464 Gulf Breeze Parkway
  • Please RSVP if you plan to attend
Why this matters:
  • The PD&E Study is the required first step to position our community for state/federal partnership and funding.
  • It evaluates alternatives, safety, mobility, environmental considerations, and community input.
  • It lays the groundwork for long-term solutions—including replacing the obsolete Navarre Beach Bridge.
Our ongoing request to the County:
  • Preserve the $1.1 million already earmarked for the PD&E Study.
  • Allocate any additional funds needed from County Reserves so the Study can begin immediately.
  • Do not redirect PD&E funds toward imposing a toll on the current bridge.
How you can help:
  • Join us this Friday to learn what the PD&E Study entails and how to engage.
  • Submit questions you’d like addressed during the briefing (reply to this email).
  • Share this update with family, friends, colleagues and neighbors who may be impacted.
Thank you for your continued engagement and support. We’ll keep you posted on any Board actions and next steps.
