Santa Rosa County Commissioner Sam Parker is Appointed to the Florida Association of Counties

Board of Directors

Santa Rosa County Commissioner Sam Parker, Chairman and District 1, has been appointed to the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) Board of Directors as an at-large director for 2024-25. This appointment recognizes Commissioner Sam Parker's commitment to public service and his leadership role in the community as valuable assets to the FAC and the people of Florida.

 

"I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors, with other county leaders, to serve and represent Santa Rosa County and the state of Florida as a whole," said Commissioner Sam Parker, Chairman and District 1. "The Florida Association of Counties does a great job at bringing together decision-makers from all over the state to aid in enacting change on a legislative level, that has a real impact on our local communities."

 

The Florida Association of Counties helps Florida’s counties effectively serve and represent their communities through advocacy, collaboration, and education. The 67 county members are represented within the Association by their county commissioners, totaling 377 statewide. The Association’s constituency also includes appointed county officials, such as administrators/ managers, attorneys and other professional county governmental personnel.

 

FAC is governed by a Board of Directors composed of one county commissioner from each of the state's 40 senate districts, five executive officers, six county commissioners appointed at-large, and past presidents of FAC. The Board determines the direction of the programs and policies in accordance with the stated purpose of the Association.
