UNITED WAY OF WEST FLORIDA CALLS COMMUNITY TO ACTION FOR DAY OF CARING ON NOVEMBER 13

Nonprofits, Schools and Volunteer Teams Invited to Be Part of One of the Area’s Largest Days of Volunteerism

PENSACOLA, Fla. - United Way of West Florida is bringing the community together for Day of Caring on Friday, November 13, 2026, and nonprofits, schools, businesses, organizations and volunteer teams throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are invited to get involved.

Day of Caring is one of the largest days of volunteerism in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, connecting volunteers with local nonprofits and schools for meaningful, hands-on service projects that make an immediate difference in the community.

Projects may include painting, beautification, letter writing and a variety of other service opportunities designed to help local organizations accomplish important projects while giving volunteers an opportunity to see firsthand the impact of their service.

There are two great ways to participate:

Nonprofits and Schools: Organizations with a project that could benefit from volunteer support are encouraged to submit a project and host a volunteer team at their site. REGISTER NOW

Volunteers, Businesses and Community Groups: Gather your co-workers, friends, family members or organization and sign up for a project that best fits your team. REGISTER NOW

The impact of Day of Caring reaches far beyond a single day. Last year, more than 700 volunteers completed 68 projects across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, providing valuable support to organizations serving the community every day.

Volunteerism also gives participants an opportunity to learn more about local nonprofit organizations, strengthen connections with their teammates and see the services and programs making a difference throughout Northwest Florida.

“Volunteerism is more than completing a project. It’s a collective effort that connects individuals and teams to agencies in the community, helping them understand the services being provided,” said Donna Bliss, Community Impact Coordinator for United Way of West Florida.
