The Northwest Florida Water Management District has issued a Water Shortage Warning across its service area due to ongoing drought conditions, significantly below normal rainfall, and declining stream flows and groundwater levels. The District is encouraging voluntary water conservation, particularly reducing outdoor irrigation and watering only during early morning or evening hours to minimize evaporation.
At this time, the warning is advisory in nature and does not impose mandatory restrictions. There are no new regulatory requirements for Holley Navarre Water System, and our system continues to operate normally while meeting member demand.
However, continued dry forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration suggest drought conditions may persist in the coming months. Proactive conservation now helps protect aquifer levels, supports regional water sustainability, and may reduce the need for stricter measures later.
HNWS encourages members to be mindful of outdoor water use and to follow practical conservation practices as we work together to protect our shared water resources.
