June is Audiobook Appreciation Month – All SRC Libraries

Celebrate Audiobook Appreciation Month with the Santa Rosa County Library System. Whether you’re commuting, traveling, exercising, or relaxing at home, audiobooks make it easy to enjoy a great story anywhere. SRC Libraries offer a variety of audiobook options, including books on CD, Playaways, and eAudiobooks through Libby and hoopla apps. Browse hundreds of titles and find your next great listen at any Santa Rosa County library.

 

Preschool Storytime

Storytime programs are presented for preschool children ages three through five and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.

 

First timer? Visit the library to meet the storytime presenter, pick up a welcome packet, explore the children's area, and enjoy a tour of the library. Check the library website for additional details at www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries.

 

Storytime will be presented during the following times Jun. 1 through Jul. 18:

  • 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Jay Library
  • 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library
  • 10:30 - 11 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
  • 11- 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays at the Pace Library
  • 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Gulf Breeze Library

 

Summer Reading Program: Unearth a Story!

Jun. 1- Jul. 18

Dig into adventure this summer with the Santa Rosa County Library System’s “Unearth a Story” Summer Reading Program. All ages are encouraged to track the number of minutes read and complete weekly challenges to earn prizes. Programs will be offered for families with students who were in kindergarten through fifth grade during the last school year at the following times:

  • 3 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library
  • 11 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Jay Library
  • 3 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
  • 11 a.m. on Thursdays at the Navarre Library
  • 3 p.m. on Thursdays at the Gulf Breeze Library

 

All activities are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Pick up a reading log at the library or print one from our website. Milton Summer Hangout– Milton Library-- 5541 Alabama St.

Visit the Milton Library to cool off and enjoy afternoon fun this summer during Milton Summer Hangout. Participants can play games, enjoy activities, and watch a movie.

 

The Inklings – Milton Library-- 5541 Alabama St.

Jun. 2, 4 - 5 p.m.

6th through 10th graders are invited to share their ideas about the book of the month. The Inklings Book Club reads both novels and graphic novels. Space is limited; registration is required. This month’s selection is “The Aquanaut” by Dan Santat.

 

Senior Social – Gulf Breeze Library – 1060 Shoreline Dr.

Jun. 3, 10 - 11 a.m.

Adults are invited for coffee, pastries, engaging conversation, and fun games and activities on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library.

 

Tech It Easy: Cybersecurity

A welcoming technology skills series designed for all experience levels. Whether you’re just getting started with technology or want to sharpen your skills, these sessions offer practical tips and hands-on guidance to help you navigate the digital world with confidence. Topics for the series will include email basics and Google tools, internet safety, online learning tools, digital literacy for seniors, and more. Bring your curiosity and get ready to learn in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

Jun. 4, 4 - 6 p.m.

Visit the Navarre Library for an open art studio. Design your own project or do a special project which changes each month. All art materials are provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library. This is a drop-in program; all ages are welcome, but children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Craft and Chat – Navarre Library – 8484 James. M. Harvell Rd.

Jun. 5 and Jun. 19, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Bring whatever project you are working on—needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and more—and enjoy a relaxed hour of crafting, chatting, and sharing ideas with fellow makers. All skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experts. Meets on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

 

20 Years of Movies (20 Years of Stories Anniversary Program) – Pace Library – 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.

Jun. 5, Jun. 12, Jun. 19, Jun. 26, 2 – 4 p.m.

Celebrate 20 years of stories at the Pace Library with 20 Years of Movies on Fridays in June from 2 to 4 p.m. Rewatch favorite films that are also celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2026. Free popcorn and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Pace Library.

  • Jun. 5— “Night at the Museum” (rated PG, 2006)
  • Jun. 12—"Cars” (rated PG, 2006)
  • Jun. 19— “Happy Feet” (rated PG, 2006)

Community Chess – Pace Library – 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.

Jun. 6, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Chess players of all ages are invited to play chess at the Pace Library. Knowledge of the game is recommended as no lessons will be provided. Players are expected to show good sportsmanship. The library has a limited supply of chess sets; players are encouraged to bring their own. Table space is limited. No table reservations at this time - first come, first served. Speak with a staff member for more information.

 

FOPL Book Club – Pace Library – 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.

Jun. 9, 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Visit the Pace Library on the 2nd Tuesday each month for the Friends of the Pace Library Book Club. Anyone 18+ who has read the book of the month is welcome to attend. Speak with a staff member for more information. This month’s selection is “Light Years from Home” by Mike Chen.

 

Meet! Play! Learn!

10 – 11 a.m.

Meet! Play! Learn! is an interactive early-learning program designed for young children and their caregivers. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to actively play alongside their child(ren), explore age-appropriate activity stations, and connect with other families in a welcoming, social environment. Children will have opportunities to play, explore, and build skills while making new friends. This program is for children ages birth to 5 who have not yet started kindergarten.

Webinar Wednesdays – Family History & Research Center – 6275 Dogwood Dr., Milton

Visit the Family History & Research Center on the 2nd Wednesday each month for Webinar Wednesdays. Webinars related to family history research will be shown at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a discussion following. This month’s webinar is " Using U.S. Cemetery Records to Fill in Gaps on Your Family Tree” by Julia Anderson.

Come play a board game or video game at the Jay Library. Bring your own or enjoy one of ours. Get your game on!

Visit the Navarre Library on the 2nd Friday. each month for the Cover to Cover Book Club. Anyone 18+ who has read the book of the month is welcome to attend. This month’s title is “The Women” by Kristin Hannah. Speak with a staff member for more information.

 

Furry Friend Friday – Gulf Breeze Library – 1060 Shoreline Dr.

Jun. 12, 2- 3 p.m.

Children and families will enjoy a fun story about pets, learn important tips about pet safety, and discover the many ways that the Santa Rosa County Animal Services cares for animals that come through their doors. Participants will get to meet a special furry friend from the shelter and learn how adoption helps animals find their forever homes.

 

For the Win! Games Day – Milton Library-- 5541 Alabama St.

Enjoy playing tabletop or board games? Join us for game day at the Milton Library. Bring games from home or play those provided by the library. This event is open to all ages, and game groups are welcome.

Throwback Movie Tuesdays (20 Years of Stories Anniversary Program) – Navarre Library – 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.

Jun. 16, 4 – 6 p.m.

Visit the Navarre Library on the 3rd Tuesday of the month for Throwback Movie Tuesdays, a special film series featuring family-friendly movies released in 2006, the year the Santa Rosa County Library System opened its doors. All movies will begin at 4 p.m. and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library. This month’s movie is " Garfield:

A Tail of Two Kitties” (rated PG, 2006).

 

STEAM Day – Milton Library – 5541 Alabama St.

Visit the Milton Library for a monthly STEAM Day! Each month will feature a different theme. This month’s theme is “Space/Star Wars” Speak with a staff member for more information.

Tweens and teens ages 10-17 who are interested in robotics, coding, and other tech are invited to join our STEAMaker tech club. Beginners through expert level welcome!

 

Book Character Day! (20 Years of Stories Anniversary Program) – Gulf Breeze Library – 1060 Shoreline Dr.

Jun. 23, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Celebrate the Santa Rosa County Library System’s 20th Anniversary with 20 Years of Stories: Book Character Day! At the Gulf Breeze Library on Tues. Jun. 23. Patrons are invited to drop by dressed as their favorite book character and receive a free book prize, while supplies last.

 

As the Page Turns – Jay Library – 5259 Booker Ln.

Jun. 23, 4 - 5 p.m.

Visit the Jay Library on the 4th Tuesday each month for As the Page Turns, an adult book club where patrons choose what to read. This month’s genre is Non-Fiction, with a suggested title of “Norse Mythology” Neil Gaiman or reader’s choice. Speak with a staff member for more information.

The Novel Ideas Book Club meets at 5:30 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Come listen and share your thoughts about the book of the month. Ready to roll the dice and dive into adventure? Teens and tweens in middle and high school are invited to join us for a monthly Dungeons & Dragons one-shot session. Choose your character, explore a fantastical world, solve challenges, and work together to complete an epic quest—all in a single session. New and experienced players are welcome. Bring your imagination (and your favorite snacks) and get ready for an unforgettable journey! Meets on the 4th Saturday of each month.
